This kit includes all materials necessary for one student and one teacher for a full year of study. Components are listed separately for purposes of replacement. Kit includes a textbook, test booklets, and an answer booklet. Third edition.
This book consists of more than 130 lessons. The teacher’s edition for these textbooks is identical to the student edition, with the addition of answers to exercises and general introductory statements at the beginning of each book.
Activities: In a typical lesson, students (1) complete a set of warm-up activities that include facts practice, mental math, and problem solving exercises not related to the topic(s) of the lesson, (2) read through a demonstration or description of the mathematics, (3) work through several practice exercises on the topic(s), and (4) work through a series of exercises reviewing mathematics previously taught.
Assessment: Assessment includes warm-ups and practice and review exercises for each lesson. Formal assessment includes facts practice tests and tests to be given after every five lessons. SAXON MATH: Math is the mother of science. It is very important to build a solid foundation for math. After we tried different math books to homeschool our children, we like Saxon Math best and Saxon Math is indeed very popular among homeschooling families. They use "incremental" approach, i.e. introduce concepts in small pieces and then continually review that concept as they add more pieces. Topics are never dropped; instead, they are gradually increased in complexity, allowing it to become second nature. Just a small investment but give your children a strong start in Math. It is a very worthy investment.
