1. 適用坊間大多數應用軟體.
用戶可在一般具有英文文字處理能力的軟體中輕鬆地輸入、編輯和列印中文與英文。
適用軟體包括: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, FrontPage, Sun StarOffice, Outlook, PageMaker, PhotoShop, PeachTree, Eudora, MSN Messenger 及其他多種與視窗系統相容的應用程式。

2. 多種輸入法供用戶選用: 拼音， 注音，英文， 英漢， 粵音，倉頡， 筆畫，GB碼， GB5碼， Uni Code全角字

3. 各式各樣的簡繁字體
「一般安裝」可得11種中文字體，如需更多字體，中文伙伴光盤中有全套49 種字體供用戶做選擇性安裝。 字體有 Unicode 和 ANSI (Non-Unicode) 兩種編碼格式，前者適用Unicode (統一碼)應用軟體，後者適用 ANSI 應用軟體。Unicode 字體的名稱以“TSC”開頭，例如“TSC JSong SG TT”(一種繁體字體)，“TSC FMing S5 TT”(一種簡體字體)等。ANSI 字體的名稱以“ Chn”開頭，例如“Chn JLi SG TT”，“Chn FLi S5 TT”等。

4. 內碼
雙橋系統支援的中文內碼有GB, GBK, Big5 及 Big5+。 在台灣開發的中文軟體以Big5(大五碼)為主，包含大約13,000 個繁體中文字與標點符號。大多數在中國大陸開發的中文軟體使用GB (國標碼)，包括大約 7,000 個簡體字與標點符號。

5. 支援Unicode與ANSI (Non-Unicode) 應用軟體
Unicode (統一碼) 解決了過去 ANSI 規格中全球各語言編碼系統相互衝突的問題，因此近年來成為一般公認的編碼標準。最明顯的的例子是，Microsoft Office 中所有的應用軟體都採用Unicode。雙橋系統以支援Unicode 應用軟體為主，但仍繼續支援 ANSI (非 Unicode) 的軟體。像Adobe PageMaker 和 Eudora 等都是 ANSI 應用軟體。 6. 中文顯示可以簡繁互換
用戶可以在內碼不變的情況下隨個人需要將中文顯示轉變為簡體或繁體。 一字元游標移位，斷字、亂碼從此絕跡 在 Unicode 模式中，游標在中文文件中一次移位一整字，不會進入一個中文單字的正中間。因此不再有斷字、亂碼的困擾。

7. 操作容易
輸入提示行(Input Prompt Line): 輸入操作、輸入設定簡單易學。　

8. 外掛輸入法(Custom Chinese IME Generator)
雙橋中文伙伴為滿足輸入法開發者和軟體經銷商的需要，特別提供一個標準接口讓使用者外掛自己的輸入方法。使用者輸入法的數據必須是國標碼 (GB) 或是大五碼 (Big5) 。外掛輸入法一經掛入，系統的詞典管理、頻率排列、單字聯想等功能都完全有效。
