Editorial Reviews
From Library Journal
Stuart Gray has always wanted to be a minister like his grandfather. But when he saves the life of beautiful Annie Harding, he begins seriously to reconsider the course of his life. Now tentatively hoping to pursue a medical career, Stuart also hopes to court Annie, who does find him appealing. However, she is also seriously involved with a well-to-do banker's son. Knowing that her father intends her to marry for wealth, Annie soon finds herself caught between a need to obey and the pursuit of true love. Stuart, meanwhile, must decide whether to abandon thoughts of a ministerial career. Faced with making life-changing decisions, both Stuart and Annie realize that they must depend on God's guidance. This gentle look at turn-of-the-century American life should appeal to fans of Janette Oke. (Some Things Last Forever, Bethany House, 1996) Recommended.
