The Cross -- Jesus in China DVD (English version only)
This film uses many interviews and shots on spot, as well as many facts to explain the birth, survival and development of Chinese Christians. What kind of people are they? What influence have they had on others, and what impact they will continue to have on China or even the world?
This film is a 3 DVD series but has an extra DVD on a special topic. The total is 4 DVDs and the total length of the set is about 4 hours.
DVD 1: "The Spring of Life" reports the real life and internal world of the contemporay Chinese Christians of all walks of life: including farmers, students, officials, orphans, gangsters, actors and actresses, scholars, writers, scientists and enterpreneuers.
DVD 2: "The Seed of Blood" shows from "The Boxers" in the Ching Dynasty till the past fifty years, the bloody footprints of famous Chinese Chritians of the old generation, including Wang Ming Dao, John Song, Watchman Nee, Yuan Xiang Chen, Samuel Lin, Xie Mo Shan etc.
DVD 3: "The Bitter Cup" presents many touching testimonies of many young Christians dedicated to the ministries after the Cultural Revolution. They stood firm in the Lord even under persecution, and that caused a great revival in China.
The Special Topic DVD, "Songs of Canaan," records an amazing story: a village girl named Xiao Ming, from the He Nan Province, with only middle shcool education and not knowing how to read music, under the touch of the Holy Spirit has sung almost a thousand beautiful hymns sung by Chinese Churches both overseas and in China.
The crew member of the "Cross" is a group of dedicated Chinese Christians. They bravely went to various places in China and interviewed hundreds of churches and thousands of Christians. They extracted this 4 hour film from a total of 500 hours of film.
The purpose of producing this "Cross" film is to record a part of the history and present the reality of Christianity in China. This film is an encouragement to churches overseas, and also a gift to every Christian. This film also provides a direction for people who are concerned about the future of China: What role should Christianity play in the spiritual construction among Chinese people?
This set of DVDs is narrated in both English and Mandarin.
The director is the Yuan Zhi Ming, who also direct "China Confessions" and his own testimonies "Why I believe in Jesus". Brother Xie Wen Jie is the producer who devotes most of his time and assets in this minstry.
