People who come back from Hong Kong always praise the food there. This is a Chinese-English cooking book edited by a group of mission-minded Christians in the U.S. who were originally from Hong Kong. They have two missions in mind: First, they have tasted the foods and followed the recipes and know the dishes are delicious, so they want to recommend them to you even without any fancy names or beautiful pictures. The second mission is the hope that our readers will also taste another kind of food--spiritual food. They have tasted and experienced that God is good and you can taste the same peace and joy from above too. The basic principle of this cookbook is this: use the cheapest ingredients, the least amount of time, and the simplest methods and tools to create delicious dishes. I like this book because it uses western measurements like cups, tea spoon or tablespoons, is bilingual, and because all the ingredients are available in the U. S. They are good potluck (we call it "pot providence") dishes. There are 18 Chinese desserts, 23 family dishes, and 20 pages of cooking secrets. Total 125 pages.
